Every Tuesday, members receive an emailed copy of Bracknell Camera Club's Parish Notes.

These notes consists of a summary of the programme from Monday, information about what is happening the following week, any activies going on within the Special Interest Groups, links to newsletters from the Southern Counties Photographic Photographic Federation (SCPF) and the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) and information about any local photographic exhibitions.

Gary Gough – Fine Art Photography

On Monday 8th September we welcomed members back into the OLC after the long summer break.  It was lovely to see old friends and meet many new members and guests.  This was to be an exciting evening as, unlike other years, we were opening the season with a speaker event.  We were honoured that Gary Gough, YouTuber, Fine Art Photographer and 'Influencer' (at the age of 64) agreed to drive down from Huddersfield to share some of his knowledge and skills.

Robert Harvey - Landscapes for all Seasons

On Monday 29th September 2025 we had the pleasure of welcoming Robert Harvey to BCC.  Robert has been a regular guest speaker to the club over the years and his talks always inspire.

A talk from Robert Harvey is about so much more than photography.  Robert has an in-depth knowledge of the geology of his landscapes and with his ability to interpret weather conditions he can identify glorious opportunities for impactful images.  I think you will all agree that last night we had a feast of compelling landscapes.

Robert demonstrated to us how important it is to revisit epic views not just at different times of the day but also in different seasons and you may find that an ordinary image can be transformed into something extraordinary.

 Justin Minns FRPS

On Monday 20th October our meeting took a slightly different format with our speaker presenting to us over Teams.  It’s a great way to access speakers for whom the distance prohibits them travelling all the way to Berkshire.  We had the best of both worlds with a chance to socialise before the start time and during the tea break rather than connecting from home with very little social interaction.

Our speaker for the night was award winning photographer, Justin Minns FRPS.  Justin talked about his year long project commissioned by the National Trust, when he was asked to photograph the East Anglian Coast.

Justin explained that since the 1960s the NT has acquired parts of the coast to preserve the landscape and protect it from developments. Much of our sand dunes and cliff tops have been invaded by caravan parks and golf courses.  The campaign was called the Neptune Coastline Campaign and in the 60 years since the launch the NT has purchased 890 miles of coastline.  Justin carried out the project 10 years ago as part of their 50th year celebrations.

Mark Pain

On 3rd November 2025 guest speaker, professional sports photographer Mark Pain, made a return visit to Bracknell Camera Club having presented to us 7 years ago.

'Mark Pain is a multi-award winning sports photographer with over 25 years experience and international recognition. Covering major events worldwide from the Olympic Games to the Ryder Cup, and from football and rugby World Cups to World Championship athletics, Mark has worked at the top of his profession for many years and was Chief Sports Photographer of the Mail On Sunday for over twenty years.'

I am sure you will all agree that the opening sequence Mark Pain played, displaying images of which he is particularly proud, demonstrated to us exactly why he is an award winning photographer.   Did you feel the excitement of these images?  Each and every one of them demanded an emotional reaction.
